4. Smart Mode & Expert Mode

1.Make sure the Display Table is connected to power source with stable access to the Internet.
2.Tap the Update application button from the MaxiIM Job Menu;or tap the update notification message when received one;or tap the Update icon on Vehicle Menu in Diagnostics application.The Update application screen displays.
3.Check all available updates:
►If you device to update all the items of IMMO software,select IMMO Tab and then tap the Update All button;if you want to update all items of diagnostic software,select Diagnose Tab and then tap the Update All button.
►If you only want to update one or some of the item(s),tap the Update button on the right colum of the specific item(s).
4.Tap the Pause buttons to suspend the updating process.Tap Continue to resume the update and the process will continue from the pause point.
5.When the updating process is completed,the firmware will be installed automatically.The version will replace the older version.

Key programing probably is most important.
Also code scanning and some programing functions are very helpful as well as data graphing.
Quite ridgid as all autel scan tools, surviving tough shop enviroments.

Here's some reasons for me to choose 508 rather than 608
1. 508 + XP 400 Pro = really nice price & all same immo functions as 608
2. Update subscription is a lot cheaper
3. Sometimes customers want you to use expensive tools to show you're professional, but choosing the cheaper option from a reputable brand is a smart move. Also, this seller actually delivers on their claim of 37 service functions. I thought it was a deceptive tactic but it wasn't.

What a great tool to have. I was surprised to see all of the extra circuit boards and cables that were included so that I can make custom connectors if I need to. Running full diagnostics is so clutch when it comes to fixing vehicles. Programming keys is a labor free way to make some money, so I'm very excited to have that feature in the shop. A few clicks of a button and 10 minutes of time and now I've made new keys for the customer. The training videos that are available on their site are great. I definitely recommend this scanner.

What a great addition to my toolbox. I can diagnose all systems, reprogram keys, and do almost all service resets I need. I've reprogrammed keys on a 2008 Ford Focus (Skips the 10 minute pats login), Retrieved pin and programmed keys on a 2010 Nissan Versa, as well as programmed a new key on a 2014 Silverado. All of these functions, I used to have to subscribe to the OE and use their J2534 software. While the tool does have some limitations, this is a must have for a shop if you end up needing a tool that can help you diagnose as well as reprogram a large variety of keys for vehicles. If you're working on Euro's, make sure to pick up the xp400 or the xp400 pro for Mercedes IR key programming as well as a larger FOBIK programming capability.

I bought this tool specifically to be able to do PATS functions on a 15 or newer ford without having a nastf subscription which is $500 every 2 years.
I had just replaced the PCM in a 2015 ford f150 and was unable to get into the pats and do a parameter reset without having a nastf login. This tool did it with ease and paid for itself as soon as I got it as I had another ford to do a parameter reset on.
Was easy to get setup out of the box, comes with 2 years of free updates and the cost after 2 years isn’t going to break the bank to pay for updates in the future. Overall 10/10!
